Winter 2009
It's been a fairytale castle winter! Starting in November with Impressions playing at the
Mayor of Ruthin's Charity Gala Ball in Wales at the gorgeous Ruthin
Castle in Denbighshire, a very enjoyable night for the guests and certainly a fun night for the band from Karen & Jez's duo slot through the champagne reception through to Impressions' swinging upbeat set after dinner and a successful Silent Auction... In mid December the snow began as Karen and Nick Fletcher headed off to Augill Castle in Cumbria to play at a Winter Wonderland wedding's evening reception. They got there just in time as the snowy hilltop road was closed behind them (s-l-o-w and slippery journey!!) Augill Castle is absolutely beautiful, full of quirky details and stunningly cosy drawing room decor. It was an intimate party in an enchanting venue... a perfect snowy Narnia world coupled with classic jazz, Christmas and delightful company. Oh yes :)
Summer 2009
This summer has seen Karen playing at some fantastic events! Her excellent quintet, Impressions, featured alongside the Dizzy Club at this year's exciting Jazz in the Gardens at Sheffield's stunning Botanical Gardens. Keeping lucky with this year's hit and miss weather, she also appeared with her quartet in the auspicious surroundings of Greenwich Naval College, London, and performed on a fabulous cruise down the River Thames on a very successful corporate event for EEA Management!
