Lounge Lizards duo bring you the beautiful and haunting songs of a bygone era. Featuring Karen Lake on vocals and Andy Chantry on guitar, their sophisticated yet accessible style is relaxed and intimate. Karen's voice is rich, sultry and evcocative, her style heavily influenced by the Jazz Divas of yesteryear: Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Nina Simone and Peggy Lee. Andy plays with a tender touch that is hypnotic and joyful, drawing inspiration from jazz guitar masters: Wes Montgomery, Grant Green and Joe Pass. Together they create a unique and retro sound that is all their own.

Karen and Andy are passionate about the songs they perform. Their repertoire is lovingly chosen from the song writing sensations of the past: Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, George & Ira Gershwin, Billy Strayhorn, Johnny Mercer, etc. Their set gently flows with songs ranging from romantic to heartrending, exciting to powerful.The pure simplicity of Lounge Lizards voice and guitar duo has enchanted audiences at venues across the country, from small house parties to grand castle weddings (duos are excellent for drinks receptions and dinners), and they regularly appear at hotels, bars and restaurants (see Gigs page for listings details). Previous clients have included Mercedes Benz, Soho House, Eastnor Castle and Renishaw Hall; and they are proud to have played as support to Clare Teal, Ian Shaw and Courtney Pine at the acclaimed jazz venue, The Sands, in Gainsborough.
